This article explains how to activate and integrate the Spreadconnect Customizer into your Shopify store. You’ll learn how to enable the tool, select products for personalization, define your pricing, and make the Customizer accessible to your customers.
Note: The Customizer is only available if your Shopify plan includes an Online Store. It is not supported on the Shopify Lite Plan.
How to Add the Customizer
1. Open the Spreadconnect App
- In your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Spreadconnect.
2. Activate the Customizer
- In Settings, find the Customizer section and click Manage Customizer.
- Select customizable products: Filter your catalog and choose the products you want to offer with customization.
- Set a default product that will load in the Customizer.

Set your pricing:
- Apply a global markup or set earnings per product category.

Optionally enable rounded prices.

Enable customization features:
- Allow customers to upload their own designs
- Allow text input
- Allow product type changes
3. Create the Store Page
- After activation, a new page called 'Customizer' is automatically created.
- Go to Online Store > Pages.
- The Customizer is embedded via JavaScript — do not modify the code.
- You can add a short description that appears on your storefront.
4. Add the Customizer to Your Store Navigation
- Go to Content > Menus.
- Open your Main menu.

Add a new menu item:
- Label: e.g. Customizer
- Link: Select the Customizer page created in step 3
5. Confirm the Customizer is Available
- Go to Online Store > Themes > Customize.
- The Customizer should now be integrated into your store’s layout header.
What to Keep in Mind
- You must manually add the Customizer page to your store’s navigation.
- Do not change the JavaScript on the Customizer page.
- Spreadconnect is not responsible for restyling — check that your theme still looks good after setup.
- Do not unpublish the Customizer product — it’s required for the tool to work.
