How do I get started with Magento?
Magento is an open-source e-commerce platform. Spreadconnect supports Magento 2.4.4 & 2.4.5
Before you learn how to install the Spreadconnect integration for Magento, you need to make sure you first have an account with Spreadconnect. To create it, simply click here.
How to install Spreadconnect for Magento
To install the Spreadconnect Integration, head over to your Spreadconnect dashboard and go to:
- Connect Integrations on the left-hand side menu.
- Click on Connect under the Magento section.
- Copy the API key.
- Head over to the Spreadconnect Github Repository.
You will have to follow the instructions on this page. Once Magento has been installed, you will be able to enter the API key you copied from your Spreadconnect App earlier, and then press on Submit API key.
What happens next?
Once the plugin has been successfully installed and the API key has been connected correctly, Magento will try to sync all products assigned to it from your Spreadconnect App.
When you create new products in your Spreadconnect App, they will be automatically synced to your Magento store. However, they will not be automatically published. To publish them, you need to assign taxes and shipping costs. You can find more information here:
Once your products have been configured correctly, all orders that are placed will be sent to us, and you will be able to see their status in your Spreadconnect App.

How are orders imported from Magento to Spreadconnect?
Once an order has been placed in your Magento Store and you are correctly connected to your Spreadconnect App, it will be automatically imported. This process is not instant, so you can expect some short delays between the time the order is placed and the time it will be visible in your Spreadconnect App.
All orders can be found in your Spreadconnect App, under All Orders.
In case there is an issue with the order (ex. invalid address), you can update the order in your Magento Store and the information will be automatically synced again to your Spreadconnect App.
Once the order has been processed, Spreadconnect will also inform Magento automatically.

How can I configure my shipping rates in Magento?
What you need to know
Before configuring your shipping rates in your Magento Store, we highly suggest reading their documentation on the subject first.
You can also find our Shipping rates here: What are Spreadconnect's shipping times and prices?
How to configure shipping rates
To configure your shipping rate in Magento, head over to your Magento Dashboard and go to:
- Stores on the left-hand side menu.
- Under Sales, go to Shipping Settings.
Follow the documentation from Magento to be sure you are setting everything correctly.
The shipping rates you want to use are up to you. We highly recommend using at least the rates that Spreadconnect is charging you, to maximize your margin.
Shipping Rate per order size
Since Spreadconnect charges per order value (only from the amount between you and us), you might want to offer different Tier rates, depending on how much your customer is ordering with you. The documentation from Magento explains it in more detail here: Magento - User Guide - Shipping Table Rate
Offering Free Shipping?
If Free Shipping is an option you want to activate, please follow the following instructions from Magento: Magento - User Guide - Free Shipping
What about Premium and Express Shipping?
Those options are not available for the basic Magento 2. You would need to add an extension to create Custom Shipping Methods. There are multiple extensions available online.
You can find more about extensions here: Magento Marketplace

Does Magento know when Spreadconnect shipped products?
Once the order has been dispatched, Spreadconnect will automatically inform Magento via webhook. All available information such as tracking links (if sent with tracking) will be communicated.
-
How do I provide shipping confirmation to my customers?
Shipping confirmation is communicated from Spreadconnect to Magento automatically. However, Spreadconnect will not send it to your customer. This is something you can set up in your Magento Store.
You can find the necessary documentation here: Magento - User Guide - Sales Email
You can also find multiple extensions on the Magento Marketplace to automate this process.

How Does the Staging Area Work for Magento?
Spreadconnect has a test environment called the Staging Area which lets you try out your integration and order processes.
To use this feature, you will need to register an account for the Staging Area. Your usual Spreadconnect credentials will not work. You will also need to enter test credit card information. You can use these test credit card numbers. The staging area lets you create orders and simulate orders going into production and being shipped.
To do this you can create an order via your respective integration or by creating sample or manual orders. When creating the test order it’s best to create orders above $300/€300 in order to circumvent batching .
Once the order is created, go to the order detail page and on the top left under More Actions click Simulate Order State in Production. You can now see what an order looks like when it goes into production. Select More Actions again and click Simulate Order State Sent.
This will make your order look like it has been shipped and will generate a tracking number.
Please note: You will need to go to their Magento account and navigate to Stores > Settings > Configuration > Spreadconnect > General. Here you will find the Enable Staging option, which you can toggle to Yes.
