In this article, we will explain important details about product availability in Spreadconnect, how unavailable variants are handled, and what steps you can take to manage affected orders effectively.
Product availability and variants
Spreadconnect offers a wide range of products in various colors and sizes to cater to different preferences. However, not every color is available in all sizes. For instance, a specific color might only be offered in sizes S to 3XL but not in 5XL. If a particular color-size combination is not available and will never be restocked, Spreadconnect will set its stock status to 0.
We recommend not ignoring stock states in the respective point of sale you're using. Should an order come in with items that cannot be produced because stock is 0 orders will automatically cancel if no stock appears within 28 days. The entire order will not be processed.
Handling orders that contain unavailable product variants
If an order includes an unavailable product, you can take the following steps to resolve it. Here is how to do it in Shopify:
- In Shopify, the affected order will have the status In Progress.
- Open the Spreadconnect App and Cancel the affected order.
- The order status in Shopify will revert to Unfulfilled.
- Edit the order in Shopify:
- Remove the unavailable item (the variant that is out of stock).
- Alternatively, replace the unavailable item with a different product.
- After editing, Request Fulfillment again in Shopify.
- The order will be resubmitted to Spreadconnect and move back into the In Progress state.
