What should I need to know about sample orders?
Spreadconnect merchants have the option to place up to 5 sample orders per calendar month through the Spreadconnect app. Here’s a guide to help you understand the process, rules, and limitations of sample ordering.
Accessing Sample Orders
-
In the Spreadconnect App
- Navigate to the Order Products button on the left-hand side of your Dashboard Overview, located underneath Order Manually.
-
For Shopify Merchants
- If you’re using Spreadconnect within Shopify, you’ll only see the option to Order Samples.
Monthly Limit and Reset
- Sample Order Limit: You can place up to 5 sample orders per calendar month.
- Limit Reset: The limit resets on the 1st of every month.
- Important Note: The limit applies to the number of orders, not the number of products within each order.
- Cancelled orders will not count toward your limit. Only orders which are produced and shipped will count.
- Example:
1. Order:
40 items 2. Order: 1 item 3. Order: 4 items 4. Order: 100 item 5. Order: 1 item
Additional Orders Beyond the Limit
After reaching the monthly limit, you can continue ordering samples; however:
-
- Discounts will no longer apply.
- The order will be treated like a regular manual order at regular prices.

What are the different order statuses, and what do they mean?
Spreadconnect created different payment and fulfillment states for you to understand exactly what is happening with your orders. Also, if there is an issue, this will be clearly highlighted to you.
Please see the explanations of the order states below:
Please contact our customer service if your very first order shows the status "waiting for production" for more than 48 hours. (unless the product is indicated with a longer turnaround time)

What happens if an order is placed for an out-of-stock item?
When an order contains an item that is out of stock, it will be marked with the status Needs Action. Clicking on the flagged order in the Order Detail Page will show more information about the required action.
Out-Of-Stock Handling

- Alternatively, you or your customer can change the item's color or size.
- If you replace the item with a similar product, it’s recommended to contact your customer to discuss suitable replacements.
